Devotional gurus

September 30, 2009 by madhuri kaja

Today we were invited for Swamyjee Viswayogi Viswamjee Paada Pooja – it was our first time meeting swamy jee, too his blessings and it sure was a positive experience.
All, I cannot help recollecting my child hood memories related to this …. as a young girl i was a bit puzzled when i saw public bowing to gurus, swamys, babas and sanyasis … I used to think  and my thought process was … if they are humans just like us, what motivates people to go to such swamijees …?  what are they really expecting from gurus?  what are they getting back with such association? what is it that is different between us and these gurus?
adding to this, I hail from a family where my grandfather(chopurala pulliah) gave up the worldly pleasures and took Sanyasam in his mid thirties. (I could closely observe a Sanyasi life, made me think more …. ) – Later his given name is Avadhuta Ananda Natha swamy – he started Lingamoorthy swamy matt is in Betamcherla, kurnool dist which is currently run by his disciples. He not only donated his personal possessions, motivated many to do good deeds …. also with his charismatic following, in his public speeches – when he called for a meeting addressing a public issue (good cause) – i was astonished to see many women took gold ornaments from their body( necklaces, bangles, rings  …) and men selflessly opened their wallets to donate for poor, the needy. All his life he promoted values of dharma, humanity and devotion – i had the privilege of participating in some of the volunteer activities in my childhood.
With all these happening and it took years of self realization about what Leadership is about …. speaking specifically about these devotional leaders, they not only follow what they believed in but they influence other people to follow the path/goals they believe in. People are ready to contribute their valuable time, energy, money, fame etc. following the leader as they hearts are motivated now.

These Leaders care for humanity in general, their goals often are selfless ones – indeed we bow to their divya atmas with respect.

I would be interested to know all of your thoughts on this / or if u have similar personal experiences ….

Artificial Intelligence – Robots in daily life

September 30, 2009 by madhuri kaja

for safety, security, entertainment, science, research, computing..

robots serving food(i guess i need to tip them properly), cooking food???, driving for us
can robots replace humans?????
I do not think so ….
robots cannot analyse effectively it is going to be humans edge

Indian dancers will remain for long, there is no beauty when robot does the Indian dances(bharat natyam, kuchipudi …..sure…. bcoz… as emotions play a major role

will in future there will be inter-robotical skills a topic to discuss? like interpersonal skills for humans?
will there will career goals for robots ?

Car pool is not opted by many …Is it bcoz mainly convenience or humans cannot(forgot to??) coordinate effectively with each other?

Even though we all know carpool is better, u can see there is only one lane for carpoolers and many lanes …. Even Traffic jam they do not mind.

Hope to see all car pool lanes and only one lane for those who want to drive themselves and the speed should be 50 in that lane…

ManaBadi – Teaching Telugu for Children …. why?

September 30, 2009 by madhuri kaja

Thursday, December 6, 2007

ManaBadi is SiliconAndhras Dream, now a successful story, with lot of dedicated and passionate teachers – ManaBadi is a program in Bay Area which has Telugu Curriculum programmes for kids, actually for all those who cannot read, write Telugu language.
We are teaching Telugu Language classes to our kids, this is a 4 year, very organized curriculum taught by committed passionate volunteers from Telugu community, certified by Telugu University.

What am i doing there? i am a volunteer teacher myself at Fremont, California, i also help out the admin team, curriculum team and website development team for ManaBadi in whatever way i can.

i say to myself why? bcoz i am mother myself, after couple of years passed and if i look back and say to myself why Ramya(my little one) is not speaking, writing in telugu, the question might come back to me … what have u done? the question is …it is not what is required …u have to give more than that

i say to myself why? i feel the personal satisfaction being part of such a good team.

i analyzed the problem, it is not kids, it is not with parents not teaching telugu at home but bcoz we do not have the environment for kids where they are motivated to speak themselves with a liking for the language.

The mediocre teacher tells.
The good teacher explains.
The superior teacher demonstrates.
The great teacher inspires.
~William Arthur Ward

who is going to motivate them? who takes it as a responsibility?

I think everyone whether they are a parent or not, take responsibility of giving language to kids in what ever way they can..

There is a english saying, ‘IT TAKES THE WHOLE VILLAGETO RAISE A CHILD’.

With my busy schedule, i always say to myself this is important stuff and i need to give more time for kids …
